Alex Lately

Alex is a full blown three and a half year old these days. Here's what he's been up to:
- He is really conversational now and is fun to talk to.
- He loves to tell stories about "when I was a little boy..." Last night before bed, he said, "when I was a little boy, I had a really cool skateboard." I think sometimes he gets confused with a real story and a made up one. =) Cute, though.
- He is very sweet to his brothers and takes good care of them. He's a little rowdy with Henry (normal!), but is very sweet and protective of Ben.
- He eats oatmeal every day for breakfast. When he kisses me goodnight he often says, "Mommy, in the morning, make my oatmeal, ok?" So cute. As if I'd forget!
- He loves to go to Old McDonald's and play. His favorite treat there is the yogurt parfait with granola.
- He has memorized 3 bible verses so far: Brothers love each other (Romans 12:10), Love comes from God (I John 4:7), and Do everything without complaining or arguing (Phil 2:14) He makes a mama and daddy proud!
- He hand picked a big 'ol bulldozer to give away today on "Giving Sunday" at church. He helped me wrap it and everything and is excited to give it to a boy that doesn't have any toys. I am proud of his generous heart.
- He loves riding his bike, playing with the neighbor kids, going to the park, and playing sports - any kind!
- He is very sweet when he prays and often remembers small requests to give to God. This week our neighbor was sick and he remembered to pray for her before bedtime. One night he also prayed for God to clean up the playroom. Fun to see how a child's heart learns to pray!

He and Brother wanted to wear aprons yesterday and of course, ended up chasing each other around the house in them.
Alex loves the one with cupcakes. He's also requested that we have cupcakes for Jesus' birthday.
